Roma forward talent Nicolo Zaniolo has surprisingly been touted to leave the ranks of the Giallorossi in the upcoming transfer window(s). There is currently no progress on contract renewal talks between the player and the club, citing developments of a potential future for him away from the Italian capital.

Zaniolo, 22, is one of Italian football’s most highly-rated youngsters, however, his career has taken a hit in the past year or so due to two major anterior cruciate ligament knee injuries. Nevertheless, he has still managed to secure 22 appearances for Roma, scoring three and assisting as many this season.

According to reports from TUTTOmercatoweb, Roma are planning to put Zaniolo on the transfer list, with two more years left on his contract. His contract expires in June 2024.

With a transfermarkt value of €33m, his injury-prone situation might turn off the interests of several top clubs, who would rather invest in a ready-to-go youngster without any prior problems.

The versatile attacking midfielder moved to Roma in the summer of 2018 for €4.5m, as part of an exchange deal with Inter, who in turn received Radja Nainggolan from the Giallorossi.
