Roma Receive Mixed News About Their Star Forwards

Roma won’t have Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku against Bologna in a sneakily important game since the two sides are level in fourth place. The former will be back for the ensuing clash versus Napoli, while Lo Joya will spend some time on the shelf, Sky Italy reported.

Despite some concerns about the length of the suspension following a straight red-card for an X-rated tackle on Christian Kouamé, the Belgian talisman has been handed a standard one-game ban. He’ll serve it in the match versus the Felsinei.

While Lukaku will return against Napoli, Dybala will be out for about three weeks due to a flexor strain in his left thigh. The tests didn’t corroborate the initial optimism about his injury. The Argentine will also miss the reunion with Juventus and the Coppa Italia tilt against Frosinone. He could be available versus Atalanta on January 7th, but that’ll be clearer later on

Sardar Azmoun injured his calf against the Viola but avoided a lesion. He’s ineligible in the Europa League and will most likely be sidelined for the Bologna bout. He’ll be day-to-day afterward.

Without Lukaku, Dybala, and the Iranian international, Roma will have to lean on Andrea Belotti and Stephan El Shaarawy next week and in the ensuing matches. The ex-Bianconeri star has already missed 45 days due to injury and will add approximately 20 more to the tally due to his latest hiccup.
