Roma Reportedly Aiming for Another Acquisition from PSG

Roma will start the season without a new striker, but Hugo Ekitiké is gaining steam among the options linked to them in recent days. The Giallorossi hope PSG will become increasingly lenient on the formula as the transfer window nears its conclusion. The Ligue 1 side rebuffed Milan when they asked for the prodigy.

According to Corriere dello Sport, their great relationship with the French champions could help them. The capital side just onboarded Leandro Paredes and Renato Sanches, solving two issues for the counterparty. The former joined on a permanent deal for very cheap.

Roma won’t spend €30M for Ekitiké, as PSG reportedly requested from Milan. However, if Kylian Mbappé ends up staying, the French outfit could lower their demand or agree to a temporary transfer later on. The starlet struggled to find his footing after breaking out at Reims two seasons ago.

The Giallorossi have encountered issues in the negotiation for Duvan Zapata, but there’s common ground between the parties. The disagreements are mostly on the figures and could be solved. Sporting Braga value Abel Ruiz €18M, so they’d have to invest to sign him. Instead, there’s growing pessimism about the arrival of Marcos Leonardo.

Roma plot to add two center-forwards, one veteran and one youngster, and Ekitiké would obviously fall in the second category.
