Roma Scan Two Prospective New Additions from Torino

Roma have reached out to Torino regarding the availability of two of their most appreciated players, in a bid to strengthen José Mourinho’s squad. With a host of names, including Jordan Veretout, Amadou Diawara, Justin Kluivert and perhaps even Nicolò Zaniolo possibly leaving Stadio Olimpico, the Giallorossi are already on the forefront of player hunting.

According to Corriere dello Sport, soon-to-be free agent Andrea Belotti is a crucial name to have popped up on Tiago Pinto’s list of potential transfers, after the Euro 2020 winner was reportedly offered by his agents to the capital club. Despite the fact that the midfield area is of primary concern to the club, Mourinho would like to see a deputy to assist star striker Tammy Abraham, who enjoyed a productive first season in Italy.

Belotti was linked heavily with Roma three years ago, but Torino’s demands felt excessive back then. However, his contract is about to run out, which changes everything.

Another name in contention is central midfielder Sasa Lukic, according to transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who has been an integral part of the Granata ever since arriving from Partizan Belgrade in 2016. The versatile Serbian ace is capable of functioning on several fronts, including as a playmaker – characteristics that impress coach the Special One.

With a contract expiring in the summer of 2024, Lukic would be available for anything around the €15-20M range. The 25-year-old is however seen as a cornerstone by Torino, which are not prepared to lose him, so Roma would have to table a large bid to get him.
