Roma Send Belotti to Fiorentina, Set to Sign Baldanzi

Roma parted ways with Andrea Belotti on Wednesday and will welcome Tommaso Baldanzi on deadline day. The Empoli starlet is already in town for the medicals and the formalities. The Giallorossi had been working on the deal for a while, and Empoli didn’t put up a ton of resistance.

Per Ansa, owner Dan Friedkin was instrumental in its completion. The trequartista will join in a €10M transfer with €5M add-ons, some of them very easy to achieve. He won’t be inserted in the UEFA list due to their Financial Fair Play limitations. Empoli will have a 20 percent re-sale clause.

Baldanzi will sign a contract with Roma until 2028. He has spent his entire career with the Tuscan Azzurri, registering 6 goals in 44 appearances since he started playing regularly with the first team in the past campaign.

The Giallorossi shipped off Andrea Belotti to Fiorentina to have more ammo. He departed on a season-long loan, with the Viola shelling out a €1M fee, Alfredo Pedullà informs. He has posted 10 goals and 4 assists in the Italian capital since coming in from Torino in a Bosman move.

Our Take on Roma and Baldanzi

It’s always funny how even teams that cry poor always find some money lying around when there’s a very good opportunity. He’ll be a major bargain and give them finally a proper Paulo Dybala backup if he avoids the injury problems that have hampered him this season. He’ll easily prove to be worth the small investment in the long run.
