Roma Set Their Sights on PSG Midfielder, Wait for Domino

Roma are watching a few options to shore up the midfield and inserted Danilo Pereira in their shortlist. He is not the ideal type of player considering what they were looking for. However, he could be relatively easy to sign, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

They need to find a new team for Amadou Diawara first. He has okayed the transfer after returning from AFCON. Venezia, Cagliari, Sampdoria and Galatasaray are battling for him. Valencia appear to have moved on to different targets. The Giallorossi are open to an initial loan spell, but they want to include an €8/9M option to buy in the deal.

Before Danilo Pereira, Roma have been linked to Boubacar Kamara and Granit Xhaka. On the other hand, their primary options are more challenging to acquire. The youngster will likely join a Premier League club in a Bosman move. Arsenal are struggling to reach an agreement with Juventus for Arthur. It is the prerequisite for the departure of the Swiss talisman.

The Portuguese powerhouse is not a pure distributor, but his muscularity would be useful. He would fit right in considering the presence of his national team teammates Rui Patricio and Sergio Oliveira, on top of José Mourinho and CEO Tiago Pinto.

Roma are waiting to see whether the chips will fall in the right place to get a discount for Danilo. PSG are trying to sign Tanguy Ndombélé, whom Tottenham would replace with Sofyan Amrabat. The price tag of the 30-year-old is around €15M.
