Roma Star Dishes on His Italian Stay and Chelsea Return

Tammy Abraham is happy in Rome but admitted that his future is uncertain. Chelsea hold an €80M buy-back clause. He talked to Tuttomercatoweb during a promotional photoshoot.

“Transferring here was an interesting and different experience. I had to adapt quickly. The people and the fans made me feel welcome immediately. I should have landed at a private airport, but there were too many supporters. They were chanting and happy to see me. In that moment, I realized that it was the right place for me. They are very passionate and cheer for you even if you aren’t faring well. I think they appreciate my effort, hunger, and desire to win. I’ve not been here for long, but I’ll look back at this spell as a great moment in my life.”

Abraham addressed the upcoming window.

“My partner and I are expecting a child, which is the most important thing. Then I’ll think about where to go next summer. The United States has always been in mind, but we’ll probably choose a more family-friendly place. It’d be nice to win something more with Roma.”

“Before leaving Chelsea, Fikayo Tomori and I talked at length. We couldn’t believe it. We were departing after spending our entire careers there. It was all I knew. It was the right time, though, as I was ready for the next chapter. I didn’t want to be considered just a youngster.”

“I’m still in touch with my ex-teammates. Reece James always tells me to come back. We grew up together and have known each other for years. The same goes for Mason Mount, Declan Rice, and Eddie Nketiah. We shared many memories. It’s special to see how far they have come.”
