Roma Table Solid Offer for Versatile Rennes Midfielder

After probing a few options, Roma have come out in the open for Enzo Le Fée to bolster their midfield. The Giallorossi quickly reached agreement on his personal terms. Instead, they’ll have to up their bid to convince Rennes, Foot Mercato reports.

The French side recently hired former Milan director Frederic Massara after Florian Maurice was appointed by Nice to replace Florient Ghisolfi, who’s the new head of the technical area for the capital club.

Roma offered €18M for Le Fée, who’s not for sale but not necessarily untouchable either. Rennes rebuffed them. They paid €20M to acquire him from Lorient last summer. The 24-year-old recorded 5 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions, failing to score.

The midfielder hit the net 8 times and set up 15 teammates in 142 games with Les Merlus. He has 15 caps with France U-21 and one with the Olympic team. He can also play in more offensive positions and not exclusively as a box-to-box.

Our Take on Roma and Le Fée

It’s pretty manifest that their new exec has set his sights on Ligue 1, like a few other Serie A sides since price tags are still okay there. They have their three starters in place in the role, although Lorenzo Pellegrini is often banged up and can move around. They’ll have to sign a true difference-maker to upgrade on them. Their budget will also depend on whether they sell Houssem Aouar and Edoardo Bove, and how much they’ll cash in.
