Roma Talisman Dybala Addresses Strange Goal Celebration

Paulo Dybala put on a show at the Stadio Olimpico to inspire Roma to a crucial 3-1 victory over Serie A’s ‘stalemate specialists’ Udinese. When Florian Thauvin nullified Gianluca Mancini’s opener in the second half, it looked like Giallorossi would have to settle for a draw.

Jose Mourinho’s side suffered against Udinese’s well-organized backline and needed someone to carry them to an all-important win. As a true superstar, Dybala stepped up to the plate. After setting Mancini on a plate for the opening goal, the Argentine scored a decisive late goal after combining well with Romelu Lukaku.

Roma fans worship Dybala, who has been exceptional since joining the club on a free transfer last summer. Therefore, his celebration of choice came out of the blue. The Olimpico was in raptures when he struck home in the 81st minute. But instead of going wild, the ex-Juventus forward made the ‘shush’ gesture.

Speaking to the press after the game, the Roma talisman explained the reason behind putting his finger in front of his lips.

“Somebody talks too much for no reason,” Dybala told DAZN, as quoted by VoceGiallorossa. “I always try to give the best for my team.”

Dybala’s strike fired Roma to a unique milestone, marking their 4.500th goal in history.

I am glad, I try to give back all the love these people give me. I want to remain in history with a trophy. It was a good night, it was important to win.
