Roma, Tammy Abraham: “There’s a Reason Why I Call Mourinho the Best”

Roma forward Tammy Abraham has witnessed a head start in the Italian capital like very few would have predicted. The Englishman has 23 goals in 41 appearances for the Giallorossi since joining from boyhood club Chelsea past summer, and he claims that he owes much of it to Jose Mourinho.

According to Abraham, Mourinho has played a vital part in pushing the striker to his limits and thus so far managed to squeeze the best out of him.

Speaking to talkSPORT in an exclusive interview, the London-born striker spoke highly of the ex-Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur boss, calling him the ‘best in the world’.

Abraham said: “There’s a reason why I call him the best manager in the world.

He knows how to drive you; he knows how to get under your skin and he knows how to make you feel like a very special player at times.

He’ll never tell you but I always want to do my best for him. He pushes me to do my best. When I feel like I’ve done enough he tells me I have to do more.

To come here and have a manager like Mourinho to coach you, to believe in you only gives you more confidence.”

Mourinho and his Roma outfit might have been in the papers this season for all the right or wrong reasons, but despite spending lavishly in the past transfer windows, they still find themselves five points off fourth-placed Juventus.
