Roma, Totti: “Mourinho’s Skills Can Be Decisive in a City Like Rome”

Roma legend Francesco Totti has given his say what on he expects from the Giallorossi side under former Inter tactician Jose Mourinho in-charge at Stadio Olimpico.

The Special one took charge of the capital club after his unimpressive stint at Tottenham and now has a project ahead of him.

Speaking to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Totti emphasized on what he thinks of the Roma coach. He said: “The incredible bit of news is that he has chosen Roma. He is a flexible coach, who has won a lot, has charisma. Undoubtedly he is a great character and a great motivator for the team.”

He likened Mourinho’s style and personality to the city of Rome, which he believes is a perfect match.

“He surprised me with his ability to tune into the environment immediately. He puts himself in front of everyone, acts as a lightning rod, a skill that in a city like Rome can be decisive, said Totti.

Roma have been rejuvenated this season, with new signings Tammy Abraham, Eldor Shomurodov and Rui Patricio.

They face CSKA Sofia in the UEFA Europa Conference League in the Group C opener at Stadio Olimpico on Thursday evening.
