Roma Track Brazilian Prospect and Feyenoord Center-Back

Roma plan to add a fifth center-back to their ranks during the summer. Preferably a left-footed and young one without breaking the bank. They are zeroing on two candidates, Red Bull Bragantino’s Natan and Feyenoord’s Marcos Senesi, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Brazilian defender joined his current team from Flamengo for €3.5M in January. Still, he is potentially available for a good offer. He had to take a break due to check-ups on his heart last year, but he later received the green light to resume playing. He has featured in 20 domestic matches and 3 Copa Libertadores ones. The Giallorossi reportedly inquired about his price tag. However, they were not particularly thrilled with the answer.

There have been frequent contacts between Roma and the entourage of the Feyenoord center-back, the publication adds. He asked to leave, also because he has just a year on his contract. However, his club wants €15M. The capital side believes the sum to be too high considering the situation.

Senesi’s agents recently met with director Tiago Pinto. Though, there were no tangible steps forward in the potential deal. The 25-year-old has been linked to multiple Serie A sides in the last few months. He possesses an Italian passport but turned down the possibility of playing with the Azzurri to stick with Argentina.

Our Take on Roma Searching for a Center-Back

With the three-man line still being the go-to solution, they definitely need another man, even though it is fair to expect Marash Kumbulla to make the leap. Still, they are numerically short. Plus, they would only benefit from adding a lefty that could supplant the sloppy Roger Ibanez. Senesi could turn out to be a bargain for whoever snatches him, while Natan would be more of a gamble.
