Roma Wish to Sign a Striker in a Short Amount of Time

Roma coach José Mourinho would like to add a striker sooner rather than later in order for him to get properly acclimated. The Giallorossi will resume practicing on July 10th, while the international players will report a week later. A new acquisition before those dates would be ideal, Il Messaggero reports.

La Lupa is trying to complete more sales to bring in cash. After officially partying ways with starlets Cristian Volpato and Filippo Missori, rejects Carles Perez, Gonzalo Villar, and Bryan Reynolds are next. Director Tiago Pinto will be back on the prowl for marksman after taking care of those deals.

Gianluca Scamacca remains the number-one striker on the Roma list. However, they need West Ham to be more lenient on the fee and formula. Atletico Madrid is open to a loan, but Alvaro Morata’s wages are conspicuous, and they’d have to contribute significantly.

Per Calciomercato, the Giallorossi are keeping tabs on Boulaye Dia. He can be lured by activating a €25M release clause in early July. Fiorentina have done the most legwork on him, and Lazio are also interested.

Our Take on the Next Roma Striker

They addressed two big needs with Evan N’Dicka and Houssem Aouar, but this is arguably their top one considering Tammy Abraham’s injury. It’s a bit odd that they didn’t pursue Marcus Thuram given their prowess concerning Bosman additions.

Dia is a bargain at those numbers, and any European side seeking a forward should take a close look at him. They are unlikely to be able to spend that much, though. They’ll have to be patient and determined for Scamacca, but he’s the best option.
