Roma Working on Departures of Former Loanees, Eye More Left-Backs

José Mourinho once heaped praise on Justin Kluivert when he was at Ajax, but he will not count on him at Roma. The winger, fresh off a loan spell at RB Leipzig, will be on the move again. Nice have asked for him with the same formula. The player has opened to the destination after talking with coach Christophe Galtier. The club are discussing whether to insert an option or an obligation to buy, Sky reports.

Nice have been significantly entangled with Serie A sides in recent days. They announced the acquisition of Calving Stengs from AZ, who was on Atalanta and Genoa’s radar. If they signed Kluivert as well, they would most likely stop pursuing Jeremie Boga. The Sassuolo speedster remains the top target for the Bergamaschi should they bid farewell to Josip Ilicic, Calciomercato.com informs.

Roma are looking to offload also Robin Olsen, who spent last season at Everton. Lille have made contact to get him, and the teams are negotiating the deal. The Giallorossi would probably have to contribute to his wages, Sky informs. The French champions, who lost Mike Maignan to Milan, reached out to Salvatore Sirigu, but he is going to Genoa.

Roma continue to look for a new left-back to fill in until Leonardo Spinazzola returns. The last two names to emerge have been Marc Cucurella and Matias Vina. The Getafe player has an €18M release clause and has drawn interest from Brighton, The Athletic report. The 23-year-old Palmeiras defender was instead linked to Milan in the past, Sportitalia reports.
