Edoardo Bove has clear ideas for his future, even though he didn’t go into detail about his extension talks while talking with the press after the ceremony for CONI’s Beppe Viola award (via OneFootball).
“I’m happy in Rome, and I’ve already said that in other interviews. I’ve grown here, and I don’t like to talk publicly about my contract. I prefer to do that privately and focus on the pitch. That’s my job. I’m surely pleased to be where I am.”
Bove is tied to Roma until 2025, so he’s in line for a renewal, also considering his bigger role. The midfielder was quizzed about Stephan El Shaarawy’s tough week. The attacker has been embroiled in the betting scandal, although without substantial evidence so far.
“We’re united as a team, and the group is our strength. It shows on the pitch when you lack cohesion. The win against Monza was exciting.”
Bove dished on José Mourinho’s European aura.
“He’s a specialist, and we’ve been fortunate to reach two finals under his guidance. We know how it works. Playing in Serie A or continentally doesn’t change much for us. We want to do well in both competitions. The upcoming game against Slavia Prague will be decisive for the group’s standings, as we both have six points. We’re in good shape and must forge ahead in order to take home another victory.”
