Ionut Radu’s mistake in the 2-1 loss against Bologna will haunt Inter for quite a while if they do not manage to close the gap on eternal rivals Milan with only three games left to play in the season. The Romanian keeper gifted Nicola Sansone the winner in the 81st minute to end the Nerazzurri’s 11-game unbeaten run right when it mattered the most.
The howler arguably marks the end of the 24-year-old shotstopper’s place in Simone Inzaghi’s ranks, and the player’s agent Oscar Damiani believes the same.
“Radu does not need my defenses. In recent days, he has been through difficult times, now he is calm and serene; if he were to play, he is ready. In the past he has shown that he is a great goalkeeper with his national team, at Genoa and at ‘Avellino,” said Damiani. (via FCInterNews)
The intermediary, who previously also represented Alessandro Costacurta and Christian Panucci, knows what lies ahead for Radu, given that Inter have already made their choice.
He commented: “His future will probably not be at Inter, who have made other choices, but we know his value. There are important teams that follow him, there is nothing else to add.”
Radu’s contract expires in the summer of 2024, and his €4m transfermarkt value is highly accessible by most Serie A clubs. However, the exact suitors interested in his services are unknown.
