Romero Reveals the Italian Star Who Inspired Milan Move

New Milan signing Luka Romero has revealed the Lazio player who inspired him to choose the Rossoneri as his next club. Milan announced the signing of the 18-year-old on a Bosman deal with an official statement, making him the youngest signing of the season. He becomes the seven-time European champions’ fourth signing of the summer, after Marco Sportiello, Lorenzo Colombo and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Speaking to Milan TV (via Tuttomercatoweb), Romero disclosed the conversation he had with 2021/22 Scudetto-winning campaign captain Alessio Romagnoli, which motivated him to move to San Siro.

“I spoke to Romagnoli before coming here, he told me it’s a club with a lot of history and I’ll find myself very well.”

The Argentine U20 prodigy will undergo his Milan medicals at the Casa di Cura La Madonnina following a two-year spell at Stadio Olimpico with Lazio. Romero will don the number 18 jersey for Milan.

Romero is the youngest player to ever play in a top-five European league, having made his senior debut with Real Mallorca in La Liga aged just 15 years and 219 days.
