Rrahmani Discusses Napoli Start, Compliments Koulibaly and Osimhen

Amir Rrahmani has become a full-time starter at Napoli in recent games, supplanting Kostas Manolas. The defender talked about the team’s form in an interview: “We are doing a nice job, also thanks to the work of the staff. We are taking it game after game without looking too far ahead. Luciano Spalletti prepares the matches very well. We are aware of the opponents’ weaknesses going into the contests.”

“We are tackling every fixture in the same fashion, whether it is a domestic or a Europa League one. They are all meaningful to us. We want to go deep in every competition. Now the going will get tougher.”

Rrahmani had high praise for his teammates while talking to Napoli Magazine: “Kalidou Koulibaly is one of the best defenders in Europe. It is easy to play next to him, as he is a rock. Sometimes I have trouble containing Victor Osimhen in practice. He is very quick and strong. He is growing and understanding what his strengths are. André-Franck Zambo Anguissa was able to showcase his skills right away. He got off to a fast start and has been a true gladiator.”

The defender also touched on Lorenzo Insigne: “He is very serene and focused on what happens on the pitch.” He dished also on Manolas: “I have featured next to him at times in the past. We are all important. I have always thought a team should have four starting-caliber center-backs. You can not do well with only one or two leaders. Everybody needs to help his teammates.”

Rrahmani concluded with some remarks on the incident in Florence: “It was not a nice thing. We have been saying for years that something substantial should be done against racism, yet these situations continue to happen. It is not normal.”
