Ex-Milan tactician Arrigo Sacchi has revealed his opinion on Charles De Ketelaere, who has failed to live up to expectations since his move from Club Brugge in the last transfer window. The Belgian playmaker has been used infrequently by Stefano Pioli, registering just one assist in 15 matches for the Rossoneri so far.
Sacchi, speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), has urged Pioli and Milan to focus on players who are set within the first team, rather than put the spotlight on De Ketelaere, who he believes to be undergoing a difficult phase.
“The moment is difficult, I would bet on those players who are able to manage the particular weight of this part of the season.”
De Ketelaere was subject to much fanfare and attention by the Italian media before his €32M move came through. Evidently, he has been affected by the pressure of delivering without further ado.
His contract at Milan expires in the summer of 2027.
