Sacchi Previews Juve, Inter and Napoli Ahead of Season Opener

Managerial icon Arrigo Sacchi believes Juventus already have an advantage on their side, even before the season kicks off. He also shed light on Napoli’s chances of repeating their Scudetto exploits from the last campaign.

Talking to SportMediaset (via Tuttomercatoweb), Sacchi spoke of the different title contenders, previewing the 2023/24 season.

“Juventus have a great advantage: they’re not in the cup competitions. That’s already 10 points more. Inter are missing something. Has Milan changed a lot, perhaps too much? We’ll have to see, and the same with Napoli.”

Sacchi gave an insight as to how the Partenopei could repeat themselves.

“There are three components to football that cost nothing: a high team spirit, a very strong motivation and a tactical mindset. If Napoli do these three things, they can repeat themselves, otherwise not.”

Roberto Mancini’s recent resignation from the Italy post took everyone by surprise, including Sacchi.

“I didn’t expect it, evidently there was no longer any sharing of ideas with the Federation. However, if that was the case, maybe he should have said it first. Mancini had done an excellent European Championship, then things didn’t go well, what happened is not ethically a good thing.”
