Sacked Roma Boss Eyeing Up Bayern Munich Job

Less than a month since unceremoniously leaving Roma, Jose Mourinho could be on the verge of landing another high-profile job. According to Christian Falk, the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ has emerged as the likeliest candidate to take charge of record-time Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
Roma sacked the Portuguese manager last month following a string of underwhelming results, culminating with a disheartening 3-1 defeat at Milan. Mourinho’s successor, Daniele De Rossi, had gone from strength to strength in his opening three Serie A matches before slumping to a 4-2 defeat to Inter on Saturday.
Despite his relatively embarrassing third season at Roma, there’s no shortage of suitors for Mourinho. After being heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in the summer, the veteran coach has attracted interest from out-of-sorts Bayern Munich.
With Thomas Tuchel’s future at the Allianz Arena hanging by a thread after a 3-0 loss to high-flying Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, the German could be relieved of his duties sooner than expected. Mourinho has spotted the window of opportunity and is seemingly ready to act on it despite only recently ending his tenure at Roma.
Falk’s report says he has already started learning German in anticipation of a deal in Munich. If the Bavarians show Tuchel the door in the coming days, Mourinho’s premature departure from Roma could prove a blessing in disguise.
It’s still a theory. But knowing Mourinho, it’s hard to discard him as a candidate for such an ambitious project.
