Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin has long been linked to Serie A, with Milan possessing prior interest during the winter transfer window. However, Napoli have emerged as potential suitors as well, albeit amid strong competition from Saudi Arabia.

As per Footmercato, Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ahli, who recently acquired two Premier League stars in Edouard Mendy and Roberto Firmino, are close to luring Saint-Maximin from the Magpies. The proposed salary, in excess of the €12M mark will undoubtedly be difficult to turn down for the Frenchman, but the presence of the Scudetto winners could sway the player’s decision.

New coach Rudi Garcia is reportedly an admirer of Saint-Maximin, with perhaps the idea of using him on the wings alongside Khvicha Kvaratskhelia an exciting prospect to look forward to.

Saint-Maximin could potentially arrive as a direct replacement for Hirving Lozano, who will enter the final year of his contract in 2023/24.
