Salernitana Center-Forward Pushing for Lazio Transfer

Federico Bonazzoli is eager to join Lazio, which conversely are in the hunt for a deputy striker. The forward isn’t a full-time starter at Salernitana, which are trying to add further options to their frontline. He wouldn’t have a major role with the Biancocelesti, but it’d be his first opportunity to play in a big team, Alfredo Pedullà reports.

The marksman has similar wages as Mohamed Fares, who has been available for multiple windows. He has been offered to the Granata, who could use another man on the wings since Pasquale Mazzocchi is out with a knee injury. But they are keener on different players.

On top of Lazio, Verona and Cremonese are also pursuing Bonazzoli. On the other hand, Salernitana would rather not sell him to a fellow relegation struggler. They’ll likely greenlight his departure once they find a replacement. Their latest target is Haris Seferovic, who’s currently at Benfica on loan from Galatasaray.

The Biancocelesti will have room for just one addition once Fares leaves. They halted their pursuit of Luca Pellegrini and further left-backs to aim for a striker. Antonio Sanabria is also in their crosshairs, but Torino are having trouble reaching agreement with Roma for Eldor Shomurodov.

Our Take on Lazio and Bonazzoli

He will never be the most consistent player but, considering his energy and tenacity, it’s easy to argue that his destiny is to be a backup at a bigger team, where he would routinely provide a spark off the bench. Instead, Salernitana could use a physical forward to add variety to their strike force.
