Lazar Samardzic and Emil Audero are about to become new Inter players formally. Both arrived in Milan Wednesday night to take the medicals and put pen to paper. The Udinese prodigy will ink a five-year contract. Instead, the goalie is joining on loan from Sampdoria.
Per SportMediaset, the Nerazzurri will pay €4M as the initial fee and €16M in a year. Moreover, the package envisages €2/3M add-ons and Giovanni Fabbian, valued at €4M. They will be able to buy back the former Reggina star for €10M in the future.
Samardzic had brief remarks to the press after touching down.
“I’m very happy to be at Inter. I am ready.”
Audero reached the city a couple of hours later. He has been hand-picked to serve as Yann Sommer’s deputy. The Nerazzurri will have a €6.5/7M option to buy. He’ll earn €1.5M in the upcoming season.
The 21-year-old moved to Italy from RB Leipzig two years ago. He has featured 65 times with Udinese, recording 7 goals and 7 assists. Instead, the goalie has been a starter for the Blucerchiati for five consecutive seasons, racking up 169 appearances.
Our Take on Inter Signing Samardzic and Audero
It took longer than expected, but the end result between the sticks is okay. The talent might struggle to be a regular starter at first, but he has already shown he can be a devastating weapon off the bench.
