Sassuolo CEO Provides Update on Future of Locatelli and Raspadori

Sassuolo are set to cash in on at least one of their starlets, but it will not be a fire sale. CEO Giovanni Carnevali stated that they would do business only at their conditions. Manuel Locatelli is their most coveted asset, but they will wait before accepting any offer. He explained why to Tuttosport.

“We hope Locatelli will be among the protagonists with Italy, and we want to delay every negotiation to after the Euro. We have not received the right bid that satisfies everybody yet. The most serious recent inquiries came from foreign clubs, not from Juventus, which approached us last year. We are open to every solution. We will try to do what the player asks us, but we do not necessarily need to sell anybody. In that event, we would rather not include other players in the deal.”

Sassuolo instead intend to hold onto Giacomo Raspadori: “He has no price tag because we do not want him to leave. We count on our youngsters, and he will 100% stay to reach the next level with us. We will not even listen to the offers. We will instead consider the bids for the other contributors pursued by top clubs.”

On their other sought-after players: “I have talked with Jeremie Boga, and it is not true that he wants to depart at all costs. I hope Domenico Berardi will have a great Euro and that he will stay at Sassuolo. He is our symbol, our Francesco Totti.”

He indicated what his ideal signing would be: “My dream target is Giorgio Chiellini; he would be perfect for us. We will see in the future.” He was linked to a move to Juventus: “I appreciated it, but there was never anything too concrete.”
