Sassuolo CEO Rules Out More Exits, Expects Additions

Sassuolo sporting director Giovanni Carnevali announced that there would not be further sales, while they will try to sign some more players, especially because of the early injuries. The executive talked during the introductory presser of Andrea Pinamonti, denying a gentleman’s agreement with Inter for a future return (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“There’s no such thing. Our goal is to make our players grow and then sell them to top clubs. Whether it will be the Nerazzurri or somebody else, we will see.”

The Neroverdi plan to get busy adding to the squad down the stretch.

“We haven’t received particular requests lately, and we don’t intend to arrange any other departure. We are happy with the important sales that went through. But we have also pulled off meaningful signings. We are evaluating. We have lost Hamed Traoré and Mert Muldur. If they were healthy, our window would be over.”

Carnevali addressed their chase of Armand Laurienté.

“We have better chances of purchasing Janis Antiste from Spezia, because the deal with Lorient is quite complex.”

According to the publication, Sassuolo helped the Aquilotti land the French starlet last season, and they have a sort of option to bring him in. With Domenico Berardi extending his contract and Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca gone, the only hot commodities remaining are Davide Frattesi and Maxime Lopez, and they plot to resist the offers.

Our Take on the Sassuolo Window

They have taken some hits, but if Pinamonti pans out and Traoré returns relatively soon, the technical losses shouldn’t be dramatic. They could use another right-back and an inventive midfielder, though.
