Sassuolo Chief Dismisses Frattesi Exit Talks: “He is Extraordinary”

Sassuolo demolished Milan 5-2 at the San Siro, thanks to a dominant midfield performance led by Davide Frattesi. The Roma youth product played a pivotal role in dispatching the Rossoneri, inflicting their fifth consecutive winless match on the trot.

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali shrugged off any potential exit deal in January for the Neroverdi midfielder in an exclusive interview to Radio Anch’io Lo Sport (via FCInterNews).

“Frattesi is an example, an extraordinary player. He is one of the most important players we have and, in this window, he will certainly remain at the club.”

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a return to the Giallorossi – his boyhood club – but Carnevali’s comments closes shut the transfer saga, which is expected to reopen in the summer.

The Italy international has 9 goals in 60 appearances for Sassuolo across three seasons.

This season is so far his most prolific, scoring 5 goals in 21 appearances for the Neroverdi so far.
