Sassuolo Could Draw Spezia Prodigy Holm on Loan Deal

Spezia prodigy Emil Holm is a defender in demand. Despite the failure to help the Ligurian minnows maintain top-flight safety, the Swedish right-back’s breakthrough season in Serie A provided interested suitors with great insight regarding his abilities.

As per Il Secolo XIX (via Tuttomercatoweb), Holm could soon find himself playing for Sassuolo, perhaps on an initial loan deal. As indicated by the reports, Spezia representatives Eduardo Macia and Stefano Melissano met with Giovanni Carnevali last week to evaluate the transfer of Holm from Spezia.

Having recently sold Mert Muldur to Fenerbahce, the Neroverdi possess Holm atop their shortlist. It is understood that a first offer has already been presented by Sassuolo, in the range of a €3M loan proposal with the ability to redeem Holm.

In case of a permanent transfer, the Swede’s ex-club Sønderjyske are in line to receive 50% of the proceeds of the sale thanks to a clause inserted in the deal with Spezia.

Sassuolo are reportedly keen to beat competition from Inter, Juventus, Fiorentina, Atalanta, West Ham United, and Brighton, and could also provide the possibility of greater first-team opportunities for Holm to take advantage of.
