Sassuolo Keen to Lure Inter Defensive Midfield Prodigy

Inter’s highly-rated French talent Lucien Agoume has caught the attention of Sassuolo, but this time, without a deal including Gianluca Scamacca. The 19-year-old will be outright bought by Sassuolo with the funds acquired from Euro 2020 star Manuel Locatelli transfer – possibly from Juventus – according to reports from Tuttosport.

The French midfielder, who has Pogba-esque qualities, is said to be high on Sassuolo Chairman Giovanni Carnevali’s list. It was proposed earlier by Inter to offer the Frenchman as part of their plans to bring in Scamacca from the Neroverdi, but nothing materialized between the clubs.

The Nerazzurri have a talented youngster in their hands with a market value of €5m, according to transfermarkt. In Sassuolo’s eyes, anything less than €10m will be a steal deal for the Cameroon-born defensive midfielder.

Speaking recently to Tuttomercatoweb, intermediary Crscenzo Cecere, said: “For Agoume, we are trying to understand Inter’s position. Next week we will sit at the table and figure out what to do.”

Agoume is touted to be France’s next best thing in midfield, along with even more highly rated compatriot Eduardo Camavinga. Both midfielders are expected to replace N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba once they vacate their spots with France.
