Sassuolo Make San Siro History by Beating Both Inter and Milan

Inter suffered yet another defeat in the league, this time going down 2-0 to a highly-spirited Sassuolo side eager to finish in the top half of the table, after falling to eternal rivals Milan at the start of February.

Two first-half goals by Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca at the Giuseppe Meazza was enough to grab all three points, which means the Nerazzurri have now won just three of the nine home league matches they’ve played against the Neroverdi.

With the victory against Inter, Sassuolo maintain their reputation as a boogey team for top Serie A sides. Alessio Dionisi’s outfit have been a hard team to beat since start of the season, taking points off Lazio, Napoli, Juventus and Milan – while also having beaten the latter duo.

However, they have now made history with the win against the Nerazzurri at San Siro. For the first time ever, Sassuolo have beaten both Milan and Inter at the iconic stadium in the same season.

They defeated Milan by a similar two-goal margin at the end of November, going on to win 3-1, thanks to goals from in-demand Scamacca, Domenico Berardi and a Simon Kjaer own-goal.

Inter failed to leapfrog the Rossoneri at the top of Scudetto standings, although they have an extra game in hand.
