Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali stated that they wouldn’t let go of too many players and updated on the race to sign Davide Frattesi in an interview with Sky (via Tuttomercatoweb).
“We won’t part ways with more than two linchpins. That’s our goal. Then, it depends on requests and opportunities. We always completed important sales. Our balance sheets are in good shape, and we don’t need to make more at all costs. We will evaluate the offers, but also the demands from the players and their ambitions.”
Frattesi has been linked to Inter, Juventus, and Napoli.
“I haven’t discussed with him which teams could be interested. I’m trying to understand what could be best for Sassuolo. At this stage, it would be sending him to a Premier League side. It’s premature now. We’ll try to figure out together whether one of these Italian clubs will really come forward.”
Our Take on Frattesi
A repeat of what happened with Gianluca Scamacca wouldn’t be surprising. A few Serie A outfits eyed the striker, but then West Ham easily bested them. Considering Alexis Mac Allister’s rumored move to Liverpool and the presence of Roberto De Zerbi, Brighton make a lot of sense as a destination. The midfielder hinted that he’d like to stay in Italy in a recent interview, but you never know.
◉ Mac Allister deal includes release clause; Liverpool are big favorites as personal terms are almost agreed.
◉ Manchester United, keen on Kim Min-jae but not a done deal at this stage.
◉ Arne Slot open to Tottenham job, up to Daniel Levy now.
