Armand Laurienté ran rampant in the last two matches against Roma and Cremonese, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed. His agent Roberto Meloni talked with Tuttomercatoweb.
“He’s starting to understand Italian football. He’s working on the defensive phase and studying the language. Being more consistent would help him, but we can’t complain since he has already logged seven goals and six assists.”
“Sassuolo finally found compactness. They just had too many injuries in previous months. They improved once everybody returned. When you have to guard Domenico Berardi, you leave more room to the other attackers.”
Laurienté could have joined Torino instead of the Neroverdi.
“Lorient didn’t really want to sell him and struggled to determine his price tag. They weren’t answering emails. Sassuolo didn’t directly meet with them either. They continuously moved the goalpost to rattle the parties and keep him. That cooled off the Granata’s interest.”
The winger will be a hot commodity in the summer.
“There have been just some inquiries so far. Our intention is to keep him quiet, then we’ll see what happens. We are in no rush. Then if you we get the right opportunity, we’ll weigh it with the club. I’m aware that a few sides are keen, but nothing substantial, only a few calls to gather information.”
According to Calciomercato, Laurienté is on Napoli’s radar if they sell a winger. Multiple Premier League sides are keeping tabs on him as well. Per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sassuolo will demand €25/30M for the forward. They spent €10M to bring him to Italy last summer.
