Saudi Arabia Sides to Pursue Lukaku and Immobile Again

Saudi Arabia didn’t manage to lure Romelu Lukaku and Ciro Immobile last summer, but their clubs haven’t given up for good. They are preparing large bids to succeed in their purpose next summer. Chelsea have set a €42M price tag for their striker, who’s currently on loan at Roma, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The Giallorossi need to qualify for the Champions League to have any chance of keeping him. They might cook up a deal involving Tammy Abraham but won’t run unopposed. Al-Hilal are ready to hand him €60M wages for the next two seasons combined.

Lukaku and Immobile might change their mind about going to Saudi Arabia after the European Championship. The competition was one of the reasons why they snubbed the advances.  The former will also have other options in the Premier League.

Instead, the Lazio legend was targete by Al Shaba and Al Weada but didn’t receive an offer since he wanted to stay to play in the Champions League and be part of the Azzurri pool. Al-Ahli are in the lead now, and they could propose €35M per year.

Director Angelo Fabiani addressed the striker in an interview to the club’s radio.

“He has always signaled his intention to stay to have a role after he retires. He can still give us a lot.”

Our Take on Lukaku, Immobile, and Saudi Rabia

Roma will have first dibs, but they’ll have to get creative. There’s a better chance the latter ends up there, perhaps with one of his friends.
