Saudi Pro League Looking to Lure More Serie A Staples

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is unlikely to be the only star to leave Serie A to play in Saudi Arabia. The emerging league is targeting a few other well-known contributors currently playing in Italy.

According to La Repubblica, Al-Alhi are seriously interested in Piotr Zielinski. They tendered €12M per year to the player, who’s prone to accepting. They have opened talks with Napoli by tabling a €18M bid. Hirving Lozano could be next. Both Azzurri stars have just one year on their contracts.

Nicolò Zaniolo has been tendered a three-year, €90M deal from Al-Hilal. The Saudi money could also lure Domenico Berardi, who’s on Al-Nassr’s crosshairs, and Ciro Immobile. The Lazio stalwart rebuffed the first advances, but a new proposal could arrive soon. That’s the case also for Paul Pogba.

According to Sky (via Tuttomercatoweb), Napoli are preparing for the departure of Zielinski. He’s on Lazio’s radar, but Al-Alhi’s offer is substantially larger. If he leaves, the Partenopei will go after Gabri Veiga or their long-standing target Lazar Samardzic.

The former has a €40M release clause in his contract. A few other European giants have set sights on him as well, though. He logged 11 goals and 4 assists in 39 matches with Celta Vigo last season.
