Scalvini the Frontrunner to Replace Min-jae at Napoli

Napoli are hot on the trail for a new defender to replace Kim Min-jae, who is being eyed by Manchester United and Bayern Munch. Several names have been linked to the Partenopei, but it is Atalanta prodigy Giorgio Scalvini leading the line. However, he is not the only one. With Rudi Garcia now at the helm of managerial affairs, the transfer market is ready to take shape for the Scudetto winners.

Apart from Scalvini in the running, La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoNapoli) informs of a second defender to pique Napoli’s interest. Lens defender Kevin Danso has been followed by Napoli and Inter in recent weeks, and Garcia reportedly knows Danso well, making him a strong link to bring the stopper to the Partenopei. The Austria international has a €20M price tag.

19-year-old Scalvini is nonetheless the premier target for Napoli. Atalanta value him at €30M, but Aurelio De Laurentiis is expected to strike talks with La Dea chief Antonio Percassi in a bid to mellow the tag set upon the highly-rated defender.

Min-jae is strongly expected to move to the Premier League, but Bayern pose a huge threat to the English contenders. He is likely to be replaced by Scalvini. Ata
