Juventus Actively Negotiating with Sassuolo to Acquire Scamacca

Gianluca Scamacca has become a real target to bolster Juventus’ attack and the Bianconeri and Sassuolo are currently engaged in negotiation to try to pull off the deal, Corriere di Torino and Gazzetta dello Sport reported.

After striking out on multiple veteran attackers, at least for the moment, director Fabio Paratici has swooped in on the 22-year-old forward despite the €20/25M price tag and some competition for his services. While he would likely join on an initial 18-month loan, the early sticking point is represented by the fact that the Neroverdi want to insert an obligation to buy, while the Old Lady would prefer just an option, like in the Alvaro Morata deal.

Moreover, Sassuolo are looking at some Juventus prospect that could be part of the package, like 18-year-old defender Radu Dragusin, who has already debuted with the first team, or touted midfielder Nicolò Fagioli.

Gazzetta added that Scamacca is unlikely to stay at Genoa in any case given the lack of playing time caused by the flourishing of Mattia Destro and that Parma and Bologna would be viable destination in case the Juventus deal fell through.

Our view

The Bianconeri have switched their focus from experienced strikers on short-term deals to making an investment for the future and Scamacca is pretty gettable because of their relationship with Sassuolo. However, one thing missing from the reports is whether the player is really keen on moving to a team, although a top caliber one, where he would be a third-stringer.
