Serie A Giants Could Offer Milan’s De Ketelaere a Lifeline

Charles De Ketelaere has struggled to fit into Stefano Pioli’s system ever since moving to the Rossoneri from Club Brugge last summer. It now seems like Milan’s €35M investment has gone out of track, with the midfielder challenged for a starting place by Brahim Diaz. However, the young Belgian could be handed a lifeline by another Serie A giant to revive his career.

As per Tuttomercatoweb, Atalanta in particular have set their sights on the forward, who has failed to show any credible numbers in his 35 appearances. De Ketelaere has managed just one assist so far for Milan, with no goals to show for either.

Top-four hopefuls Atalanta have been known to be a breeding ground for players to revive their careers, with the backing of Gian Piero Gasperini, and De Ketelaere could very well be approached by them this summer – perhaps in the form of a loan transfer.

Evidently, mounting pressure to deliver in the Rossoneri colors has affected the Belgian talent, who has also been pursued by Leeds United in the past.
