Serie A Icon Crespo Reveals Favorite in Milan vs Napoli Clash

Ex-Milan and Inter forward Hernan Crespo believes the Rossoneri have the upper hand against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final 1st leg showdown at the San Siro. Milan demolished Napoli 4-0 ten days ago in Serie A, and the Argentine icon thinks the Lombard giants can use the win to propel their push towards the semis.

Crespo revealed his thoughts to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoNapoli) in an exclusive interview, and highlighted the main players to look out for.

“I see a favorite and it’s Milan. First of all, the push from San Siro is felt a lot. Second, Maradona’s success can give Pioli’s team a boost.”

Two players stand out in the ex-striker’s head who will prove instrumental.

“Tactically, I think the Rossoneri will use very high pressure, marking again to man Lobotka. The key men for Pioli? Leao can open the defense of Napoli, while Tonali is a true equalizer in the middle of the field.”

This will be the first-ever meeting between Milan and Napoli in European competition. The Rossoneri will be wary, given the Partenopei’s three-game away H2H winning streak. However, Napoli have failed to win any of their last five away games against Milan in cup competitions (D2, L3).
