Serie A Legend Proposes Mexico Prodigy for Genoa

Argentine Serie A legend Diego Milito has played a key role in helping the Rossoblu gain notice of one certain Mexican defender who made headlines during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with his impressive displays that helped the El Tri win the bronze medal.

The former Genoa and Inter striker has recommended the services of young versatile Mexico defender Johan Vasquez.

The 22-year-old centre-back, who can also function as a left-back with his technical prowess, is being heavily linked with a move to Genoa. He will be Genoa’s ninth signing if the Rossoblu successfully manage to scout the Mexico U23 international. They have already managed to lure the services of Salvatore Sirigu, Caleb Ekuban and Hernani, among other transfers.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the transfer between Vasquez’s club UNAM Pumas and Genoa should be finalized in the upcoming days. The deal is expected to cost the Rossoblu anywhere between €4-6m. His transfermarkt value is €6m.
