Serie A Round 17 Match Scorecard: Benevento – Atalanta 1-4

In the first match-up of Serie A Round 17,  Atalanta grabbed a convincing 4-1 win at the Ciro Vigorito Stadium in Benevento, breaking Filippo Inzaghi’s side good momentum as the home side had won two of their last three outings.

Benevento managed to hold their own until minute 50, when Marco Sau equalized Josip Ilicic’s initial lead for the Nerazzurri.

From then on, Atalanta were fully in control and put their heads again with Rafael Toloi, before the Colombian duo Duvan Zapata and Luis Muriel would round up the score. With this win – the third in a row for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side – the Bergamaschi reached 31 points and the 4th place in the league table.

Benevento and Simone Inzaghi, on the other hand, remain comfortably far from the drop zone despite the heavy loss.
