Serie A Sides Omit a Few Players from Their UEFA Lists

The five Serie A teams that will participate in the Champions League submitted their UEFA lists on Tuesday. All were forced to make some cuts considering that the 25-man squad has to comprise eight players grown in Italy and four from the youth academy. The clubs have to leave some spots open if that’s not possible.

Inter kept out Joaquin Correa, as expected, and Tomas Palacios, as Tajon Buchanan made it despite his long-term injury, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. The Canadian wingback should be back in November. The group stage will last until deep into the winter.

Milan decided to exclude their third-string striker Luka Jovic, who was pushed out by newcomer Tammy Abraham. Youngsters Alex Jimenez and Silvano Vos haven’t been at the club long enough to be eligible for the B-list in the Champions League.

Juventus had to pick between their outcasts and chose Arthur over Filip Kostic. The roster can’t be modified until January even should somebody leave and head to one of the countries where the market is still open. Therefore, the decision suggests the midfielder will stay put.

Atalanta didn’t include Gianluca Scamacca due to his ACL tear and Ibrahim Sulemana. Gian Piero Gasperini elected to have an extra striker in the Champions League list: youngster Vanja Vlahovic. Bologna had to make the most cuts. Lewis Ferguson is present even though he’ll be out for a few more weeks due to a major knee injury. Jesper Karlsson and Oussama El Azzouzi are the most glaring omissions as they project to be regulars throughout the season. Lorenzo De Silvestri, Mihajlo Ilic, and Benjamin Dominguez are also out.
