Serie A Suitors Keeping Tabs on Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi

Sassuolo are living yet another positive Serie A campaign this season and, among their top players, the name of Domenico Berardi has continued to capture many top clubs’ attention.

Mimmo, as his friends call him, is probably having the best season of his career. So far, the Italian international has scored 14 goals and served 14 assists. These are staggering numbers and such great performances have put him on Fiorentina, Napoli and Milan’s radar.

Currently, the most accredited team to reach an agreement with Sassuolo is Fiorentina. The Viola would be an ideal team for Berardi. Moving to an environment where the pressure is not too much hard but where the stakes are more important than at Sassuolo, could make Berardi take a further step in his career.

However, Napoli are also among the favorite teams to bring Mimmo to Castel Volturno. In this case, the pressure for Domenico Berardi would be stronger as the Azzurri have been competing for years to win the Serie A. Consequently the high expectations would not allow him to adapt quickly.

Milan are also interested. The Rossoneri coach Stefano Pioli dotes on the attacking winger. However, the Milan management does not seem convinced to make an important investment for the Italian international. This could be due to the fact that Domenico Berardi has played his entire career in Sassuolo, where he has not had the opportunity to stand out on the European stage.

Milan aim at winning the Champions League again and are not entirely comfortable with how the player would live with this kind of pressure. Berardi is also reaching maturity in his career, as he turns 28 in August. This is another factor that might hold Milan back from making the investment, given that Sassuolo are asking for 30 million euros.

It will be a very important summer for Domenico Berardi, who may have reached the turning point in his career, but it remains to be seen where he will play the next season.
