Sevilla Want Roma Youngster Amid En-Nesyri Talks

Roma have reportedly rekindled their interest in Sevilla center-forward Youssef En-Nesyri amid their search for a new prolific marksman. However, Daniele De Rossi’s men face stiff competition from Fenerbahce, with Jose Mourinho bidding to upset his former employers.

Despite being financially overpowered by the Turkish powerhouse, the Italians could have an ace up their sleeve. According to Calciomercato, Sevilla have set their sights on Roma youngster Edoardo Bove and would accept him as a counterpart in a deal for En-Nesyri.

Los Rojiblancos asked for information about Bove during exploratory talks with Roma over En-Nesyri’s switch to the Stadio Olimpico. But Sevilla’s valuation of the 22-year-old differs from Roma’s. Therefore, it’s all in the balance.

Roma would likely accept a like-for-like swap deal. However, Sevilla would ideally get a few million on top of Bove’s services. They’ve already received a satisfying €30m bid from Fenerbahce. Roma can’t get anywhere near that figure.

Their best hope is to use Bove as a makeweight. But the clock is ticking. Per the same report, there’s a significant €38m offer coming from Saudi Arabia. It would pull the rug under Giallorossi’s feet. On the upside, Roma can rely on En-Nesyri’s desire to move to Serie A.

Signed by Julen Lopetegui in 2020, he’s still 27 years old and has plenty to offer to football. He’s been Sevilla’s most lethal player since landing in Andalusia. And he’d be a decent coup for Roma. Yet, when money talks, decisions can change quickly and unexpectedly, making the situation highly unpredictable.
