Seville ‘Transfer Market’ Derby for Lazio Stopper Luiz Felipe

Lazio defender Luiz Felipe is expected to leave the capital club at the end of the season, given his contract expiry that comes into play at the end of the season. The Biancocelesti are keen on renewing the stopper’s contract, having already offered him an extension deal amounting to €2m net per season including bonuses. Nonetheless, Felipe is eager to hold out for a better sum – demanding €400,000 higher.

In the midst of the renewal saga, transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulia has reported that two hardcore rivals from Spain have set their sights on the former Salernitana defender. Eternal Andalusian rivals Real Betis and Sevilla are the teams in contention for the Brazilian’s signature.

The Seville derby in the transfer market is expected to heighten since Betis are ready to offer around the €2.5m mark including bonuses. However, Sevilla are said to be in a better position financially to offer a better salary.

Meanwhile, Inter have also kept tabs but do not look likely to sign him.

Felipe has been with Lazio for five seasons now, making 129 appearances for the Biancocelesti. He was recently called up to the Italy national football team by manager Roberto Mancini, thanks to his Italian citizenship through his great-grandfather from Vicenza.
