Simone Inzaghi Laments Tight Inter Schedule After Juventus Draw

Simone Inzaghi feels concerned with a hectic schedule after Inter eked out a 1-1 draw against Juventus in Sunday’s Derby d’Italia. Nerazzurri fought back from a deficit to end a two-game losing run against eternal rivals in Serie A and preserve their place at the top of the standings.

It was a game of two halves. Both teams showed plenty of intent to find the net in the first half but decided it was better to take a point than lose after the break. Inter came into proceedings with a psychological disadvantage, having lost both last season’s league encounters without scoring.

However, Inzaghi’s side flew high between the last two international breaks, winning six consecutive games in all competitions. An impressive form counted for nothing when Dusan Vlahovic put Juventus 1-0 up in the 27th minute. Only six minutes later, Inter captain Lautaro Martinez canceled it out to extend his side’s unbeaten run to ten matches.

While Inter must be appreciative of getting a point in Turin, there’s no time for celebration. They’ll take on Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday before locking horns with Napoli in a Serie A blockbuster next week. And Inzaghi fears his team could implode.

We have Benfica and Napoli. We are missing players. Cuadrado and Dumfries were not at their best,” the Inter manager said, as relayed by TMW. “We are in an emergency because we play a lot, and we have some problems that we have to solve. With such a difficult calendar, we have to work even harder.
