Six Serie A Sides Scout Ex-Inter Winger from Reggina

Reggina’s potential Serie B stay might not look as exciting as expected, given the club could lose one of its best players in Rigoberto Rivas. New Reggina owner Manuele Ilari is anticipated to bring about changes depending upon the verdict of the club’s exclusion from or inclusion in the second-tier, and a few names are expected to exit the Reggio Calabria outfit, including the Honduras forward.

As per Corriere dello Sport (via SassuoloNews), the right winger, whose contract at Reggina is valid until the summer of 2025, is on the radar of six Serie A sides. Sassuolo, Sampdoria, Lecce, Empoli, Genoa and Hellas Verona are all reportedly keeping close tabs on developments.

The Inter Primavera product was also closely followed by fellow Serie B giants Palermo, but the links quickly faded amidst interest from the top-tier outfits.

24-year-old Rivas initially joined then-Serie C side Reggina on loan from Inter in September 2019, and has since stuck with the Amaranto. He was part of the Inter U19 team that won the 2016/17 Campionato Nazionale Primavera, beating Fiorentina 2-1 in the final.
