Sottil Expected to Leave Fiorentina with Monza on the Horizon

Following links with Niclas Fullkrug, academy product Riccardo Sottil could soon leave Fiorentina in order to rack up more playing minutes. The Viola have prioritized the departures of several redundant players, including Riccardo Saponara and Salvatore Sirigu, whom the club has failed to come to an agreement with for an extension, and are likely to depart as free agents.

According to Sky Italia, Monza find Sottil an apt profile to boost their frontline, perhaps picturing him to shine amongst permanent recruits Andrea Petagna, Matteo Pessina, and Gianluca Caprari. Raffaele Palladino is expected to make a few additional signings before the new season starts, seeking a top-half finish this time around following an 11th position in their debut Serie A season.

24-year-old Sottil is contracted to Fiorentina until the summer of 2026. His loan spells at Pescara in 18/19 and Cagliari in 20/21 have failed to live up to expectations, possibly lowering the club’s confidence in his abilities.

No contacts have been established as of yet between either Sottil and Monza or the Brianza club and the Viola. This transfer track for Sottil is expected to light up in the coming days and weeks.
