Soulé Discusses Saudi Offer, Juventus, and Azzurri

Matias Soulé has been Frosinone’s driving force so far and was one of the protagonists of the January window as well. He examined that and more in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“When I surprisingly received this proposal from Al-Ittihad, I immediately spoke about it with my family. However, I already knew what to do in my head: stay to save Frosinone.”

Soulé has been routinely linked to leave Juventus permanently.

“First of all, I’ll go back to them, and then we’ll see also based on what they want. Last summer, I chose after watching the game against Atalanta. I saw that their playing style could suit me. Enzo Barrenechea convinced me, telling me about their fantastic environment, the lads, the staff, and the city.”

Soulé weighed in on his time with the Bianconeri and Massimiliano Allegri.

“I’ve improved defensively with Frosinone, but that had started in Turin, as tracking back didn’t come naturally to me beforehand. The coach taught me a lot, for instance how to occupy the spaces and handle multiple roles. I’ve played as a wing-back, box-to-box, second-striker, or out wide in 4-3-3 under him. That has helped me. Eusebio Di Francesco gives me a lot of freedom.”

Soulé has picked Argentina over Italy.

“I spoke about it directly with Luciano Spalletti when he visited us. I was nervous, as It wasn’t a routine thing. But he understood and was really good.”
