Spalletti and Giuntoli Allude to Their Napoli Future

Two of the masterminds of Napoli’s success, coach Luciano Spalletti and director Cristiano Giuntoli, took the floor during the title ceremony following the victory over Fiorentina. The gaffer clarifies his previous words about Aurelio De Laurentiis (via Ansa).

“There are no problems with him. The club activated its option. I thank him for informing me, and it wouldn’t be right to question how things went down. Then there will be the right time to discuss, which should always be the case in my mind, to create something even more important. The dialogue never stopped. The main premise for the future is to have a strong team. There are a few games left before the end of the season. I replied in a certain way because I was asked about things that shouldn’t concern journalists.”

“Contributing to all of this gives me great joy. It has become easy because the group is on cruise control. What we achieved is really extraordinary. Naples is truly the city of miracles if it managed to turn me into a Scudetto winner.”

While Spalletti hinted that he will stay put, the Juventus-linked exec Giuntoli suggested a partying of the ways (via TuttoSport).

“I wish to thank De Laurentiis and Andrea Chiavelli, who hired me from Carpi and changed my life. The president treated me like a son. I just want to say to the fans that they shouldn’t worry about the future. I’ve been here for eight years, and there’s always chatter about who will leave and who will stay. As long as Napoli is in De Laurentiis’ hands, there will never be an issue, and the team will always be great.”
