Spezia Lure Goalie Dragowski Permanently from Fiorentina

Spezia have completed the transfer of goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski from Fiorentina on a permanent deal, both clubs have confirmed. The ex-Viola shotstopper’s move to Liguria was delayed multiple times due to a few problems, including one with outstanding wages. He was initially asked to give up on his July and August salaries but will now be paid in full what he was owed.

The transfer is worth approximately €3M in total, including add-ons and bonuses with respect to the number of appearances made. Additionally, a 50 percent resale clause has been included as a part of the deal by Fiorentina. Dragowski has signed a three-year deal with Spezia.

The Polish goalkeeper signed with Fiorentina back in 2016. He endured a torrid two-three years before finally etching his place within the Viola ranks. Owing to the lack of game time, he was eventually shipped to Empoli on loan in 2018/19, after which he became a starter for the Gigliati the following season. He was supplanted by Pietro Terracciano in the most recent campaign, partly because of an injury.

The 24-year-old leaves Fiorentina having registered 86 appearances in total. He has 95 Serie A caps, including from his time at Empoli. Spezia had briefly chased after Alex Meret while the Dragowski talks were stalling.
